Topics by Level

What follows is a list of topics by approximate proficiency level; some topics have their own pages, while others just have sections within greater pages.

Insights uses ‘Rudimentary’ for A1-A2, ‘Intermediate’ for B1-B2, and ‘Advanced’ for B2-C1 (learn more about CEFR levels here).  Some textbook levels may fall in between; for example, a Pre-Intermediate or Lower Intermediate resource book will likely have some mix of Rudimentary and Intermediate levels.  Various resources and curricula may differ in their topics by level from what’s shown here.  This page is merely a loose guide for educators looking for topics relevant to their class proficiency levels.
